Location: Downtown Jefferson City, MO (in office)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Reports to: The firm's attorneys

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and file standard documents and motions

  • Draft correspondence, motions, notices, and other documents using the facts of each case

  • Calendar court dates, deadlines, client calls, and appointments

  • Keep Clio Manage current (familiarity with Clio is helpful, but not necessary)

  • Monitor pending clients in Clio Grow

  • Return client and prospective client calls promptly, typically within the hour

  • Download and organize discovery and evidence

  • Schedule calls with clients in custody

  • Handle mail going in and out

  • Assist in trial preparation

  • Assemble records on appeal and help with transcript requests

  • Log and track client payments

  • Pitch in on shared office upkeep so the space stays clean and ready for clients

Experience

We're open to candidates at different experience levels. Criminal law experience, familiarity with Missouri courts and Case.net, and experience with Clio are all helpful. A paralegal certificate or degree is preferred but not required. A Missouri notary commission, or a willingness to obtain one, is also a plus.
